Broken lawn mower belt on a riding mower?
I have a John Deere Sabre riding lawn mower that I've had for a few years. (Purchased used) Yesterday while mowing the lawn I hit a small hidden stump and the mower jumped a little but the engine did not stop and still runs perfectly well. However, the blades no longer move and upon closer inspection, the belt had snapped when I hit the stump.
First of all, since the belt snapped, and the motor runs fine, what do you think the overall damage might end up being? I would think that since the belt snapped it may have prevented severe damage. I have not yet tipped over the mower to see if the blades are bent are not.
And second of all, if anyone has a link or simple instructions as to replacing the belt, it would be very much appreciated.

Type in your model number and there is more than likely a free manual to show you the belt routing diagram or ask the shop where you buy your belt.
